resurfacing.

The weeks have flown by, and when I finally looked up I realized that I've been gone for some time now from Flibberty. My goodness. I've been around — but just right under the surface — too covered up to catch my breath.

A quick jaunt to the beach last weekend, where I grew up, helped to bring me back. I've always said that it's important to touch the ends of the earth with your toes at least a few times a year (and especially when one finds oneself drifting and unfocused).

I'm excited to share the photos of my dear friend (who I call my "person" - yes, a Grey's Anatomy reference - there truly is no other way to describe my relationship with her) and her family from this weekend. She asked me to do her mom's 60th bday family photos as a gift for her... they are truly a gorgeous family both inside and out and have been a huge influence in my life since grammar school. It was such an honor and so much fun to think about the times that we've all spent together — when I started editing the photos last night it made me realize just how far we've all come, how much we've all grown.

Just a few more days and they'll be up. And I'm just so glad to be resurfacing.

I love the reference to " she's my person." It made me think about how since my move to the UK last year...my person seems to be changing which saddens me, but feels outside my control.

Thanks helping me frame this today...probably not what you supposed would be the impact when writing your post. It's always a bit surprising what one can take away from reading someone else's thoughts.

I'm looking forward to more pictures...your photographs are always so lovely.
