My friend Ivy gave herself the best birthday gift ever a month ago by rescuing Brooklyn from the Atlanta Humane Society. They said he is a mix of German Shepherd and Rottweiler, and I think he's just pure cuteness. Made my traditional pumpkin pie last night for my Thanksgiving contribution (I always make the pies - at least - sometimes I bring the squash casserole too, but we'll have 3 cooks this year, so the work will be divided!). The gardenias are blooming. Mine was a shade late this year (not sure why), but boy, it is abundant with it's blooms. Can't you just smell them? I think it is my favorite smell of the summer. My home is filled with sweetness.
